MNCLS Contracts Already Contain New Deductibles Notice

If your construction company is using documents for insurance projects that Minnesota Construction Law Services drafted in the past few years, they already comply with the new Minnesota law on deductibles that took effect on August 1. Gschwind Urges Minnesota Contractors to Be Heard on Pending Lead (Paint) Regs

At last night's dinner meeting, NARI members heard Bob Zak, a professional trainer with Zota Professional Training, describe Minnesota Department of Health's proposed state-run rule to replace the EPA RRP rule regulating the remodeling of pre-1978 homes. The state will enforce lead-safe compliance with a local rule administered by MDH. We also heard from Jason Myrlie, NARI past president, call for volunteers for NARI's new legislative affairs committee.

Most Frequent MN OSHA Citations in 2014

MnOSHA released its list of most frequently cited standards in construction for 2014. Not surprisingly, fall protection leads the list with AWAIR plans the second most cited violation. As the economy begins to recover, homeowner confidence grows, and the demand for remodeling services grows, contractors are wondering if it's time to return to the employee model for trade laborers.
